CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-area high school football teams posted results Friday, Oct. 9, during Week 8 of the 2026 North Carolina high school football season, with several metro private and charter programs deciding tight conference and nonconference games.

SouthLake Christian Academy beat Covenant Day 20-13. Lake Norman Charter edged Christ the King 13-10. Community School of Davidson blanked Lincoln Charter 41-0, and Mountain Island Charter defeated Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy 35-8.

In another Charlotte-area result from western North Carolina coverage, Christ School defeated Charlotte Christian 35-21. Metrolina Christian Academy and Charlotte Country Day School were also on the Oct. 9 slate, though a final score was not listed in the statewide scoreboard excerpt reviewed Saturday.

Statewide scoreboards also carried results from across North Carolina on Oct. 9, including Eastern Randolph 28, Southwestern Randolph 7; Southern Alamance 42, Harrells Christian Academy 0; and Wilson Prep Academy 44, North East Carolina Prep 7.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools public programs such as Myers Park High School, Ardrey Kell High School, Providence High School, South Mecklenburg High School and Mallard Creek High School continue their regular-season runs under the NCHSAA calendar, with three weeks of regular-season games remaining before state playoff brackets are released.

Mayor Rob Harrington administration and CMPD Chief Estella D. Patterson department often coordinate Friday night traffic and crowd plans around high school stadiums across Mecklenburg County. Fans were reminded to watch official school channels for next week kickoff times as weather from Isaias leftovers lingered into the weekend.

Week 8 results feed into conference standings that will shape seeding for the NCHSAA playoffs. Local coaches and athletic directors typically update seed projections after the final three regular-season Fridays still ahead on the Charlotte metro calendar.
