CONCORD, N.C. — In Concord, N.C., Chase Briscoe held off Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Christopher Bell to win Sundays Bank of America 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in a photo finish, his second straight NASCAR Cup playoff victory.

Briscoe took control after the final pit stop of the sixth Chase race and nipped Bell by 0.029 seconds, the second-closest finish in Charlotte Motor Speedway history and the closest of 2026. Bell slipped under him off Turn 4 and made contact on the final lap, but Briscoe kept the No. 19 Toyota in front half-car length ahead of Bell.

It was Briscoes eighth career win and his third of 2026, all on 1.5-mile tracks. He led 62 laps. Ryan Blaney, Josh Berry and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five, with points leader Kyle Larson sixth. The result moved Briscoe to fourth in the Chase, 65 points behind Larson after he had been 123 points back before the recent surge.

The Cup Series returned to the 1.5-mile Charlotte oval for the first fall race there since 2017. Stage racing and a late caution stretch trimmed Briscoes lead in the final 10 laps before the photo finish settled the night.

Charlotte Motor Speedway weekends pull fans through the Concord and Charlotte metro corridor. Mayor Rob Harrington and City Manager Marcus D. Jones lead Charlotte city government during major event weekends, while Bank of America, a major local employer, is the races title sponsor.

CMPD Chief Estella D. Patterson department handles city public-safety needs on the Mecklenburg side as race traffic moves between Charlotte and the Concord speedway complex. Atrium Health is another major regional employer that often staffs medical readiness around large sports crowds.

Next on the Chase calendar is Phoenix. For Charlotte-area fans, Sundays result kept a Joe Gibbs Racing driver in the championship conversation after a night defined by a last-lap paint trade and a margin measured in hundredths of a second.
