Earlier that evening, another shooting occurred around 8 p.m. on the 2000 block of Rex Chapman Drive. The victim from this incident was transported to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center also with life-threatening injuries. Details about suspects and the ongoing investigation for this shooting remain undisclosed.

Additionally, a homicide investigation is underway following a separate shooting that happened around 8:43 p.m. along Magnolia Hill Drive, off Eastway Drive. Police responded to a call regarding a gunshot wound and found a deceased victim at the scene, identified as 47-year-old Shanika Gamble. CMPD announced that they have arrested a suspect in connection with Gamble’s murder. The suspect, 72-year-old James Hampton Evans, was taken into custody, and it has been confirmed that Gamble did not know him.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding these shootings to contact CMPD at 704-432-8477 or provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

In a separate incident, a shooting occurred in Uptown Charlotte near the Transit and Spectrum Centers around 8:15 p.m. on Monday night. The victim involved in this shooting is expected to survive, but as of now, no suspects have been identified and further details regarding the incident are minimal.
