Luski was born on May 23, 1953, in Havana, Cuba. His family escaped the Communist regime, relocating to Charlotte, where he spent most of his life. He pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University and then obtaining a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Following his legal education, Luski served as a law clerk for Justice J. Frank Huskins of the North Carolina Supreme Court for two years.
After his clerkship, Luski became a partner in multiple law firms, dedicating 30 years to his legal practice. He first joined Ruff, Bond, Cobb, Wade & McNair and later worked at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick. Throughout his career, he was recognized for his pro bono efforts and was inducted into the North Carolina Attorney Pro Bono Honor Society in 2022 for his outstanding service.
In addition to his legal career, Luski was deeply committed to advancing the arts. He played a significant role in promoting cultural initiatives, founding the Moses Luski Contemporary Collection at the UNC Charlotte Center City in 2015.
