CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Craft Beer Week returns Oct. 16 with 10 days of events built around the Queen City’s craft beer community.
Nearly 60 participating breweries, restaurants, taprooms, bottle shops and distilleries across the region will host more than 80 events, special releases and experiences. The lineup includes nine flagship events, from neighborhood bar crawls to a free beer competition, plus comedy shows, open mic nights and beer pairings.
The week opens Oct. 16 with the NoDa Neighborhood Bar Crawl. NoDa grew up around the Highland Park Mill No. 3 and today anchors Charlotte’s independent arts and brewery scene. On Oct. 17, a crawl covers Belmont, North End and Optimist Hall, followed by the Plaza Midwood Boozy Brunch Crawl on Oct. 18.
The Charlotte Craft Beer Showcase is Oct. 20 at Frenchy’s Sip and Shop. Later dates include Charlotte Craft Brew Tales at Carolina Beer Temple on Oct. 22 and Pints and Punchlines Comedy Night at Free Range Brewing on Oct. 23.
The week wraps on Oct. 24 with two crawls: the LoSo Brewery Crawl and the South End Night Brewery Crawl. South End runs along the Lynx Blue Line and South Boulevard, converting old rail warehouses into apartments, breweries, and offices.
A free Charlotte Craft Beer Passport works as a mobile guide, letting visitors check in at breweries and events, earn points and redeem prizes such as a limited-edition long-sleeve shirt. No app download is required.
The event matters to the local economy. Charlotte welcomes more than 33 million visitors each year, and 40% cite craft beer as a key reason for their trip.
