CHESTER, Pa. — Idan Toklomati put his name atop Charlotte FC’s single-season scoring list Saturday night, heading in his 13th league goal of 2026 as Charlotte and the Philadelphia Union played to a 2-2 draw at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa.
Philadelphia went in front in the first half when Milan Iloski converted a penalty kick. Charlotte head coach Dean Smith argued afterward that the call was wrong, saying replays showed the ball glanced off defender Nathan Byrne’s head before it struck Pep Biel.
Charlotte answered quickly after the break. Forward Rodolfo Aloko leveled the match in the 48th minute, and in the 62nd Toklomati rose to meet a cross from defender David Schnegg and nod Charlotte into a 2-1 lead. The Union pulled even for good in the 73rd minute on a goal by Bruno Damiani.
The single point snapped an eight-game winning streak for Philadelphia and left Charlotte fifth in the Eastern Conference standings.
Toklomati, 22, broke the club mark of 12 league goals that Karol Swiderski set in 2023 and that Biel tied earlier this season. The Netanya native, who plays for Israel’s national team, signed with Charlotte during summer 2024, took over as the lead striker after the club sold Patrick Agyemang, and has scored eight times in his last 10 matches.
Charlotte closes a three-game road trip next Saturday, Oct. 24, in Portland against the Timbers, with kickoff at 10:30 p.m. Eastern. After that trip the team heads back to Bank of America Stadium at 800 S. Mint St. in Uptown Charlotte, the 74,867-seat home it shares with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, as the fall stretch of the MLS season turns into a playoff push.
